For some reason I cannot get this to work. I followed the simple instructions and ran the “Send to Resolve” script from the After Effects project. The result is that Resolve had no response. I have no idea what I could be missing.
- Windows 10 – Admin
- Projector is installed – Ran It after opening Resolve. Then Closed it before Running the “Send to Resolve” script
- DaVinci Resolve 16 – In Preferences, “External Scripting Using” is set to “Local.”
- After Effects CC – scripting is enabled. “Extendscript Toolkit CC”
Unlike the Mac and Linux versions, there is no console reporting in Windows. It’s an OS limitation which it makes it difficult to troubleshoot when things are not working as expected.
Most often the problem is in the Projector template file. Launch Resolve Studio and Projector and then try using your custom template. You will need to have the After Effects render(s) in the directory where the template is expecting to find them. If the template is faulty Projector should report it at the bottom of the screen. Depending on the location of the issue Resolve may create a project but fail to import the media.
