I’d like to use L2 Generator as a UI for Dolby Metafier, but something is not working. It seems it can’t find Metafier.

Yes, you can use the L2 Generator as a front end for Dolby Vision Metafier.
Metafier is part of Dolby Vision Professional Tools. You have to download the tools from the Dolby website and install. Then go to Preferences in L2 Generator and browse for the folder where you have installed the Dolby Vision Professional Tools. Once you do that L2 Generator will be able to connect with Metafier.
